Company Mission Statement

The practice has as its sole commercial purpose the objective of increasing the net financial worth of its clients by providing the highest quality accounting, tax and consulting services.  This will be accomplished by hiring the best available candidates as Team Members who will conduct themselves in accordance with the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct.  The firm will provide Team Members with an enjoyable and progressive working environment with the opportunity for professional advancement, personal growth and an involvement in the decision making process within the firm.  The Team Members will have the privilege and opportunity to work with clients who will value and respect their services and expertise.  The firm will be innovative in its service line development and services will be clearly defined and highly structured through concise and regular communication between the firm Team Members and their clients.

Company Profile

Our firm is made up of a group of highly skilled accounting, tax, computer technology, financial planning, litigation support, executive search and financing professionals.  The firm is a voluntary member of the AICPA Private Companies Practice Section and therefore subject to the AICPA Quality peer review program.  This AICPA Quality review program is a self-regulating process in which an independent outside CPA firm audits our work and procedures to ensure that we are maintaining the highest standards as required by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  The quality review received by the firm was unqualified (the highest level) and accepted by the AICPA and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.

The services offered by the firm fall principally in the fields of accounting, audit, taxes litigation support and management advisory services.  None of these is unique in itself: what makes Damon, Topham & Company, LLC unique is the personal attention and service the principals bring to each client.

Damon, Topham & Company, LLC offers a hands-on practical approach, and consistently completes service engagements within the prescribed budget as agreed upon with each client.

Michael is a founding member of Damon, Topham & Company, LLC, Certified Public Accountants and Business Development Advisors.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University.  He is a Certified Public Accountant registered in Massachusetts (License #10233) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.  Prior experience includes employment with Miller & Spector, CPA's and as principal of Michael J. Damon, Certified Public Accountant.  Michael works primarily with closely held businesses.  In addition, he is a licensed Registered Representative (Series 7 and 63) which allows him to sell investments to our clients.  Michael is a hands-on working member who will be responsible for the overall management of the engagements.

John T. Topham, CPA, CVA - Member

John is a founding member of Damon, Topham & Company, LLC, Certified Public Accountants and Business Development Advisors.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Bentley College.  He is a Certified Public Accountant registered in Massachusetts (License #12829) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.  He has been the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at a Boston-based transportation company for three years, where he structured the financial reorganization of that company.   John has been the financial editor for the "New England Movers Magazine" and authors a number of articles for the publication.  Prior experience includes employment with Wolf and Company of Massachusetts and Tofias, Fleishman & Shapiro.   John has extensive experience in working with closely held businesses.  John is a hands-on working member who will be responsible for the overall management of the engagements.

Rhonda L. Topham, CPA - Audit Manager

Rhonda graduated Magna cum laude from the University of Lowell with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.  She is a Certified Public Accountant registered in Massachusetts (License #12236) and currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.  Upon graduation she joined Wolf & Company of Massachusetts, P.C. before joining Arthur Young & Company (Ernst & Young).  Her main responsibilities are quality control and review of all compilation, review and audit engagements of the firm.

Nancy R. MacDonald, CPA, MST - Tax Manager

Nancy has more than fifteen years of tax experience.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and graduated with distinction from the Bentley College program for Master of Science in Taxation.  She is a Certified Public Accountant registered in Massachusetts (License #8270) and is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.  Nancy was formerly a tax manager at Tofias, Fleishman & Shapiro.  She has previously served as a member of the State Tax Committee of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the board of directors of the Boston Chapter of the American Women's Society of Certified Public Accountants.  Nancy is responsible for the review and preparation of required tax filings, as well as all research and compliance issues.

Joseph W. Delmonaco, Jr. - Senior Accountant and IT Manager

Joe has more than twenty years of accounting and computer experience.  He has a Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy from Boston College.  Joe was formerly a senior staff accountant at a major food brokerage firm.  Joe is a senior accountant and IT Manager.  He is responsible for maintaining the firm's computer network and advises clients on computer system development, installation in accounting software, and maintenance issues.  He can prepare your web page design to fit your business needs and design your computer system to help run your business smoothly.
